Sun, 20 Dec 2009 10:57:15 AM EDT Oprah Winfrey recently donated 1.5 million dollars to a private middle school in inner-city Atlanta, Georgia. The donation, which was announced on Thursday, will be used to expand the school's campus by building a cafeteria, gymnasium and a theatre. The Ron Clark Academy, a private middle school in one of the city's poorest neighborhoods, has almost $2.8 million operating budget. Last December, the talk show queen Oprah Winfrey donated $365,000 to the school. |
